Queensboro Park is a small subsection of Downtown Flushing, and is surrounded by parks. It's a quiet escape from the rest of the city that is largely isolated, even from the rest of Queens. The residents here enjoy their privacy.
Founded by the Dutch West India Company, Flushing was a major hub in the colony of New Netherlands. Once said colony was taken over by the English in 1664, Flushing was incorporated as a town, with Queensboro Hill as one of its neighborhoods. It was the sight of the first tree nurseries in North America.
In 1875, Flushing established, what is now, the oldest library in Queens. The town of Flushing was dissolved in 1898 when it joined Greater New York City as a neighborhood of Queens. Queensboro Hill underwent a ton of development after its incorporation.
During the 1900’s, Queensboro Hill became part of the city’s largest Chinatown, and hosts many cultural institutions there to this day. Now, Queensboro Hill is a pleasant and diverse residential neighborhood with a ton of privacy.
The buildings in this area are shorter row houses, low to mid-rise apartment complexes, and some larger single family homes. A few high rises exist near the park for the good views, but there aren’t a lot of them.
Queensboro Hill can get pretty busy, but it’s mostly a quiet enclave for families. The area is very quiet, with many people working in the city during the day and coming back here to hang their hats at night.
There are a ton of great restaurants and bars here thanks to Chinatown, but this isn't a party neighborhood. Everyone here is respectful of their neighbors, and things are quiet in this area by 10 or 11 o’clock at night.
Queensboro Hill is great for families. It’s a bit out of the way, but that just means folks who live here get some extra privacy. There are some great schools, access to hospitals, and plenty of green space for families to enjoy. Overall, Queensboro Hill is perfect for families.

Biking is popular in this area. While there are almost no Citi Bike docking stations, traffic is light, streets are wide, and the neighborhood is right next to several parks.
