The Weill Cornell Medical College is the medical school of Cornell, a private Ivy League University. The medical school was first established in 1898 in Manhattan, New York, after Ithaca (where the main Cornell campus is located) was determined to be too small. The Weill Cornell Medical College is one of the most selective medical schools in the United States. A total of 410 students currently attend the college.
Notable alumni of the college include: Robert C. Atkins, Henry Heimlich, and Wilson Greatbatch.
Most of the academic buildings associated with the Weill Cornell Medical College are located in Upper East Side from around 61st Street to 70th Street and from 1st Avenue and the East River. Olin Hall and Lasdon House are both located conveniently around campus (one on 69th Street and the other on 70th Street.)
