DESCRIPTION
Situated among free standing mansions on one of the finest landmark blocks of the Crown Heights North Historic District, this beautifully renovated four-bedroom home offers three full floors of living space and a lush private garden, available for immediate  move-in.

Entering on the parlor floor, lovingly restored original details abound - from the tiled fireplace mantels to stained glass, plaster moldings, wainscotting, hardwood floors and a gorgeous carved wood staircase with built in bench. This is your main entertaining  floor with a sun filled living room in front, powder room in middle, and an eat-in kitchen with sliding doors out to a deck with garden access in the rear. This sprawling kitchen features stainless steel appliances, Cambria countertops, garbage disposal and  an abundance of custom cabinetry storage.

The second floor features the primary bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet, and another large bedroom with a deck and its own dedicated bathroom. The top floor offers another large bedroom, as well as a fourth bedroom, a skylit full bathroom  (with claw foot tub!) and a home office. Additional features include super energy efficient Mitsubishi multi-zoned central HVAC and washer & dryer.

Built in 1894, this gorgeous townhome was designed by Langston & Dahlander as the center in a row of three unique houses and sports a rusticated brick facade with a commanding gargoyle over its large arched parlor window. Lined with towering old growth trees  and a stunning set of 19th and early 20th century mansions, townhomes and apartment houses, this block is recognized as one of the grandest in Brooklyn. Conveniently located between Nostrand and New York Avenue, within blocks to a plethora of restaurants,  bars and shopping on Nostrand and Franklin Avenues, as well as the express subway stop of the A/C (15 minutes to Manhattan!) and 2, 3, 5 & Prospect Park shuttle trains. Brower Park and the Brooklyn Children's Museum only 1.5 blocks away!

CROWN HEIGHTS

However, once it got going in the early 1800's, it quickly became a haven for secondary homes of the wealthy King's County elite. This popularity only increased when train lines were extended to the area in the late 1800's.

While many of those older Victorian homes are still around, brownstone row houses were built in the early 1900's to thrust the area into the modern day. Around the 1950's Crown Heights began to see an influx of diversity with large populations of black and immigrant communities moving into the neighborhood.

The 1970's were a turbulent time…
