DESCRIPTION
My wife and I are looking to sublet my apartment until November 1st of 2022. The apartment is a small, true two-bedroom on the top (5th) floor of a walkup building. Neither bedroom has a closet (see the floorplan in the pictures) although we do have a standing closet from Ikea in the room we use as a bedroom. We are about a ten minute walk south of the 46th Street/Bliss Street subway stop on the 7 train. Water and heat are included. The apartment is high-speed internet ready (you can contact either Verizon for FioS or Spectrum for cable). Electricity and gas will need to be setup in your name. The neighborhood is quite nice with plenty of grocery store options, lots of bars and restaurants, and close proximity to Manhattan (about 25 minutes from Grand Central) and Brooklyn (B24 is just around the corner and takes about 15 minutes to get to the east side of Williamsburg). Our landlord will require the following from the party looking to sublet: state ID, social security card, paystub and/or letter of employment, most recent bank statement, W-2 from 2020 and a copy of your paid taxes from 2020. This information is required for the credit check and the background check. I am happy to setup a WhatsApp or FaceTime call to do a virtual walkthrough of the apartment, and at that time we can discuss any pieces of furniture that we are not intending to bring that you would like us to leave. In addition we will be leaving two in-window air conditioner units. Please feel free to reach out to me via email with any questions you may have.

LONG ISLAND CITY

Located right across the East River, you're traveling through Long Island City if you want to get from Manhattan to Queens. Once an industrial neighborhood, the last twenty years have been transformative for this area as it quickly expands its population and artistic culture.

Fun Facts and History of Long Island City

The official coat of arms for LIC depicts the Native Americans, Dutch, and English that once called the area home. LIC was its own city from 1870 until it became part of the Greater City of New York in 1898. Afterwards, LIC earned the distinction of being the First Ward of the Queens Borough. LIC was a bustling commercial and manufacturing hub as various factories opened up in the area.

In 2001, the city changed LIC's classification from commercial to residential. Since then dozens of new luxury apartments have been built here to support the growing population. LIC has become known as an artist haven as many museums, galleries, restaurants, and bars open their doors…
