DESCRIPTION
My GF and I are moving out and moving to California due to a new job. We have 3 months remaining on the lease and the new tenant has the option of taking over the lease with the option to renew for a full year at the end of the lease or starting a new year long lease.

The apartment is a spacious studio with a great view and awesome building. The apartment is approximately 600 sq ft, on the 27th floor with a full kitchen and bathroom and washing machines/dryers on the floor.

The building is really great with a large full service gym, a massive outdoor terrace on the 7th floor with 4 communal grills, 4 communal cabanas, tanning beds, grass lawn, beach volleyball court and tennis courts (all free for residents of the building and their guests). The building also offers a free shuttle service to and from the 7 train (2 min ride, 10 min walk) which gets you to Grand Central in under 5 minutes. The building also has 2-3 doormen and a dry cleaners in the lobby.

There is also a nice large waterfront park across the street and tons of restaurants in the area.

Rent is $2,550 if you take over the lease (apartment as is) or $2,625 if you sign a new lease (repainted). The new tenant has to be approved by the building ($75 application fee). The approval process takes a few days to a week.

Flexible move in date between April 15 - May 1. If you move in before May 1st, we can just pro-rate rent.

The new tenant also has the option of buying our remaining furniture (currently planning on selling it piece-meal) at a large discount of what we bought it for.

LONG ISLAND CITY

Located right across the East River, you're traveling through Long Island City if you want to get from Manhattan to Queens. Once an industrial neighborhood, the last twenty years have been transformative for this area as it quickly expands its population and artistic culture.

Fun Facts and History of Long Island City

The official coat of arms for LIC depicts the Native Americans, Dutch, and English that once called the area home. LIC was its own city from 1870 until it became part of the Greater City of New York in 1898. Afterwards, LIC earned the distinction of being the First Ward of the Queens Borough. LIC was a bustling commercial and manufacturing hub as various factories opened up in the area.

In 2001, the city changed LIC's classification from commercial to residential. Since then dozens of new luxury apartments have been built here to support the growing population. LIC has become known as an artist haven as many museums, galleries, restaurants, and bars open their doors…
