DESCRIPTION
Looking for a female roommate who likes dogs
Me and my roommate are looking for a preferably Black/POC woman roommate to sublet a room in our spacious Bed-Stuy apartment.
This sublet is flexible, however short term. The ideal roommate would stay between mid august and January. Longer or shorter can be arranged.
The room:
- Fits a twin bed
- Has one window
- Has a large closet
The apartment
- Comes with a dog
- Has a living room with a TV
- Has a Large Kitchen
Who will you be living with?
Me (Amber) [24 year old Black woman] and Kessiah [31 year old Black man]. We both have been living in this apartment for a year now, with our playful Black Labrador King. We are both quiet and like to keep to ourselves, but enjoy a good conversation. We both work during the day. We do like to limit guests in our living space.
So what type of roommate are we looking for?
The ideal roommate is somebody who would benefit from a short term sublease. They must be a team player and contribute to a cleaning schedule and be able to go through a background check. However we will not check your credit. They should be comfortable around large dogs but unfortunately cannot bring another pet into the mix.
The apartment is located right in-between Bedstuy and Ocean Hill which gives it a unique mix of affordability but also the luxury that comes with all Bedstuy has to offer. We never fall short on new Black-owned businesses and eateries to try. We are also surrounded by great parks for reading and dog walking.
Ok now lets get down to the nitty gritty:
Your share of the bills might look like this: $83 - $123
Optimum (Wi-Fi) $23
National Grid (gas) $10 - $30
Con-Edison (electricity) $50 - $70
It is $1200 to move in. That includes first months rent and a security deposit. The security deposit will be returned to you after giving 30 days notice of moving out.
If all this sounds good slide into my DMs and lets make something happen.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT
Commonly known as "Bed-Stuy", this densely populated
neighborhood in Brooklyn is a busy residential and commercial area.
Surrounded by Clinton Hill, Crown Heights, Bushwick and
Willaimsburg, the neighborhood has an easy commute to Manhattan and
typically offers lower rent than its neighbors, making this a
popular place for young professionals and students. Those looking
to rent in this neighborhood can expect to find their home on
beautifully tree-lined, brownstone filled streets.
Bedford-Stuyvesant is actually made up of several
micro-neighborhoods. One of them, Stuyvesant Heights, takes its
name from the last Governor of the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam,
Peter Stuyvesant. The other half of the name, Bedford, comes from
one of the first major colonies in New Amsterdam. While Bedford was
a major settlement, Stuyvesant Heights was largely farmland, and
that was the relationship between the two settlements until after
the Revolutionary…
