DESCRIPTION
This bright, corner home is newly renovated and offers unobstructed views from two different exposures, tons of closet space, a built-in home office, an in-unit washer/dryer, central AC, automatic blinds, two bedrooms (both of which can accommodate king-size beds), and 2.5 bathrooms. The apartment offers an open layout with hardwood floors throughout, recessed lighting, and south and east exposures with panoramic city and endless river views.

The designer kitchen, which offers tons of storage, opens to the living room and has been expanded with a huge granite breakfast bar, custom cabinetry with intricate glass inlay, and a marble designed backsplash. The top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances include a Subzero fridge, 24-bottle wine cooler, and a four-burner gas range with a griddle. Enjoy views of the East River while cooking, or while working from the built-in desk.

The primary bedroom faces south and offers skyline views as well as a custom-built wall of closets and drawers with an additional walk-in closet outfitted by California closets. The spa-like en-suite bathroom is windowed and has double vanity sinks, Robern mirrors, and plenty of storage. The second bedroom is sun-filled and also has wall-to-wall custom California closets. The modern second bathroom has a glass-tiled deep soaking tub with high-end fixtures, and the powder room is beautifully designed and conceals a full-size vented LG washer/dryer.

The entire apartment has been meticulously renovated to provide the ultimate living experience. Automated shades, central AC, a surround sound system, and Lutron lighting are just a few of the additional upgrades. No expense was spared when designing and renovating this home.

The Leighton House is a luxury white-glove condominium with the most impeccable staff including a full-time doorman, concierge and a very attentive live-in resident manager. A lovely landscaped garden with an outdoor playground and a basketball hoop are open to residents only. The building also has a health club with double-height ceilings, a yoga studio, and sauna. The Leighton House is conveniently located with Citi-bike at your doorstep and the 4,5,6, and Q subway lines, M86 crosstown bus, Whole Foods, Fairway, and great restaurants all just a couple blocks away. You are also conveniently close to both Carl Schurz and Central Park.

UPPER EAST SIDE

The Upper East Side has a reputation of wealth and opulence. Once home to the wealthiest New Yorkers (like the Kennedys, the Roosevelts, and the Rockefellers), the UES is filled with ornate and beautiful buildings. Today, the Upper East Side is still considered one of the more expensive neighborhoods, however, in recent years, it has begun to see younger arrivals (people in their 20s and 30s) who are finding better deals up north, away from the Lower East Side and/or hip Williamsburg.

With the completion of the 2nd Avenue train, the neighborhood is only becoming more accessible to everyone as previously the only train servicing the UEW was the 4,5,6 on Lexington Avenue. Even better, the further east you go, the cheaper the apartments get. All this is only adding on to the interest from renters who no longer have to commute for as long to get to the area.

Boundaries of Upper East Side

The Upper East Side contains some smaller neighborhoods such as Yorkville, Lenox Hill, Carnegie…
