Gorgeous Pre-War 2BR
Seize this rare opportunity to live in an expansive, sun-bathed two-bedroom haven in the historic Whitby, once home to 20th-century icons like Doris Day, George Burns, and Al Capone.
This quiet, 10th floor corner unit retains its original pre-war charm while offering contemporary comforts through a stunning renovation. It boasts original 1920s details, including high beamed ceilings, crown moldings, and classic oak floors refinished to a dark, elegant sheen. As you step into the unit, a lengthy and dramatic entry hallway awaits, ready to showcase a library wall, art gallery, or home office setup. The generously sized living room boasts oversized windows that flood the space with Southern sunlight and offer striking views of the city skyline, especially enchanting at night.
The windowed kitchen features a state-of-the-art electric oven, microwave, and custom white wood cabinetry. The ample bathroom, conveniently located between the living room and bedroom, is perfect for guests (while maintaining your privacy) and includes a bathtub and shower, fixtures, and porcelain subway tiles.
The large, south-facing bedrooms offers privacy and a deep closet. Additional storage is available in the unit's other large closets. The Whitby, designed by esteemed architect Emery Roth and completed in 1923, is a 208-unit building located on West 45th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues in NYC's theater district.
This full-service, pet-friendly co-op features a spectacular roof deck with 360-degree city views, a 24/7 doorman, new laundry room, storage, bike room, FIOS, and a newly renovated Art Deco-inspired lobby. It is conveniently located near major transportation, restaurants, cafes, and entertainment options.

restaurants line the streets of 8th, 9th, and 10th avenues while
the streets are adorned with brownstones, apartment complexes and
cute cafes. This once feared neighborhood has become a friendly

Hell's Kitchen started life as several plots of farmland in the
early 1700's. The easy access to the river proved to be perfect for
agricultural pursuits. However, as the city expanded north, more

other things, like the construction of New York Hospital in
1911.
The population of the area exploded in the early 1900's. Even
so, the city didn't pay too much attention to the area, which led
to increased poverty and crime. During prohibition, Hell's Kitchen
was the site of several major distilling and rumrunner…
