DESCRIPTION
First Floor-Space One:2600SF Frontage:22 square feet
on 21st Street In 1882, this Gramercy Park structure, designed in
Greek Revival style with red brick and penciled brownstone was
constructed. Inspired by the rawness and rustication of stone and
brickwork and the contrast between old and new, the layering of
history are all important dimensions of the design. A twenty-six
hundred square foot space arrangement on the first floor offers
various possibilities in terms of functionality and use. The
industrial steel stairs lead to the mezzanine landing. In a loft
filled with surprises, the modest second floor is perhaps the most
particular. A skylight with retractable shading and platformed
tiered space cantilever over the rear moat. There are many unique
and special apertures that can be noticed throughout the loft. This
Loft is the ultimate eccentric and adaptable space. Flexible and
permissible use of space and terms will be considered. There is a
possibility of having 1000 square feet of storage in the cellar on
the lower level (with an additional fee). 225 East 21st Street:

GRAMERCY PARK

A small neighborhood with a lot to look at, Gramercy Park is an upscale residential neighborhood surrounded by Park Avenue, 14th Street, 1st Avenue, and 23rd Street. This neighborhood is very historic, lined with brownstones and beautiful pre-war apartment complexes.

Fun Facts and History of Gramercy Park

Gramercy Park was the first great example of city planning in the United States. Sprouting up from the park which gives the neighborhood its name, people had to follow strict rules when building homes and structures around the green space. The park was constructed in 1832 and fenced in in 1833.

People started building around the park in the 1840's as a way to revitalize the area after a major depression a few years earlier. Trustees of the park met in 1844 and made a plan for how to layout the development they wanted.

From there, building anything in the neighborhood goes through a rigorous process. Several train lines and buildings were outright rejected, but the process…
