DESCRIPTION
Looking to sublet my wonderful ground floor studio apartment in Flatbush a few blocks away from Prospect Park on Bedford Ave. The current sublet period is September 11 2024 to May 31 2025, but earlier and later should also be fine. I am subletting while I am away for my PhD.

The apartment is what folks commonly refer to as "cozy" - i.e., quite small at about 150 sq ft. Please note this and ensure it will suit you!

I am leaving it furnished with a bed, bookshelf/wardrobe set-up, and desk. The large shelf and bed are both pieces of Floyd modular furniture. The bed pictured is set up as a twin, but I have the additional panel to convert it to a full/queen if you have your own mattress. I can remove or leave existing items (such as the television, AC unit, etc.) based on your preference.

There is storage space on top of the kitchen cupboards (quite a bit) as well as a closet. There are hooks for bicycle storage from the ceiling.

Optimum internet, Con-ed, and national grid charges are not included in the rent but are set up. Pets are fine!

The neighborhood is very friendly, with great transport links, food, coffee, and entertainment.

More than happy to answer any questions!

FLATBUSH

Just below Prospect Park is the residential neighborhood of Flatbush. Quiet and calm, yet still close to the action, Flatbush is a popular neighborhood with families and young professionals alike due to its proximity to the park, fabulous restaurants, and easy access to other parts of the city.

Fun Facts and History of Flatbush

Established in 1651, Flatbush went by the name of "Midwout" when it was still a young Dutch Colony. Once the British took over in 1664, Flatbush became the central area of the new King's County, even being named the county seat. It would remain this way through the 1700's and most of the 1800's being a large hub for merchants and farmers.

Flatbush was incorporated into the larger city of Brooklyn in 1894 and subsequently turned into a residential neighborhood after 1898 when Brooklyn became a borough in the Greater New York City. Construction on new apartment complexes, mostly mid-rise art deco buildings, happened quickly as subway lines came to the area…
