This studio to sublet is conveniently located on 39th St by the 3rd Ave, 4 blocks from Grand Central. I have one month left on the lease, so looking for someone to fill May 1 to May 31 at a discounted rent.

This is the best unit on floor 6 with doorman and elevator access. It is the most spacious with three windows, inner facing so very quiet, south facing with enough sunlight all seasons. It has a walk-in closet in the living area, and two more closets in the kitchen/bath area. Clean walls on both sides to watch movies with a projector (that is if you have one:)). There is a small gym (closed for now), and washer/dryer in building. Doormen are very friendly. I would have kept onto it for as long as possible if not starting a family and needing even more space. It's a studio but feels larger than a typical one-bed in the city.

The management company instructs that the subletter has to fill out a new application ($20 fee) and provide them with a letter of employment, a photo ID and once approved, sign a simple sublet agreement with me. I would ask for a $500 security deposit and will return to you by the end of the sublease. The monthly rental for the original lease was $2650, and I'm transferring with a big discount. Gas, heat and electricity are provided for free. Internet access is subletter's responsibility. For a month, it might work best if you have unlimited phone data.

Fun Facts and History of Murray Hill

In 1762, successful merchant Robert Murray decided to build a Mansion and farm on a desolate portion of Manhattan. His farm started from modern day 32nd street and extended north to about modern day 38th. The Murray estate would go on to play a major role in the Revolutionary War when another member of the Murray family, Mary Murray, invited the British to tea, giving the defeated American army enough time to escape Manhattan.

The land would remain in the hand of the various Murray's until 1835 when a fire swept the land that the Murray's had been renting to various people and government bodies. Around the 1850's row houses began being built in the area, and they soon became very popular with the…
