The King's College Apartments for Rent in New York, NY

About The King's College

Located in New York City's Financial District, The King's College is a Christian liberal arts school. The college focuses on teaching today's students while creating an atmosphere centered around Christ's Gospel.

The King's College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. All students must complete an 18-class core curriculum that consists of Economics, Philosophy, and Politics. A wide range of majors is offered at The King's College. Some popular majors include Journalism, Finance, Politics, English, and Business Management.

The King's College has a unique House system. As a freshman, you are assigned a "House." It will become your community of support throughout your college experience. Each House is named after a famous person who has shown great leadership in history. A few Houses include Susan B. Anthony, Clara Barton, Winston Churchill, Sojourner Truth, and Margaret Thatcher.

Student data

Approximately 97% of students find a job within six months of graduation. Over half of the students are employed in NYC. Almost 90% of students participate in at least one internship while attending school. The college recently lowered the tuition for incoming students to $21,000 per year.

The student population at The King's College, both undergraduate and graduate, is 68.4% white, 10.5% Hispanic or Latino, 5.7% Black or African American, 3.86% Asian, and 1.65% American Indian or Alaska Native.

Notable alumni

Many familiar faces have attended The King's College, such as Samantha Ponder, Host of NFL Countdown on ESPN, Vinny deMacedo, American politician, Mark Steffens, American soccer coach, and Adolfo Carrion Jr., American businessman and former elected official.

Where are the academic buildings?

The King's College was initially founded in Belmar, NJ, in 1938. It has since moved several times. After the shutdown in December 1994 due to declining enrollment, the school was re-established in 1999 and leased 45,000 square feet of space on the three floors of the Empire State Building. The college then relocated again to its current location in the Financial District at 56 Broadway in 2014. All of the students take classes at the FiDi campus, along with 26 full-time academic staffers.

Where are the residence halls?

The King's College has a housing program and currently operates two dorms in the city. Located at 102 Greenwich Street, DeVos Hall in FiDi is only five minutes away from the King's College campus. The residence hall offers full-time security, laundry facilities, private bathrooms, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and a community kitchen. The other residence hall, City Point, is located in Downtown Brooklyn and features laundry and Bluetooth speakers in every apartment. There's also a fitness center in the building.

Each student who wishes to live in student housing will fill out a questionnaire, and the housing staff will pair students with appropriate roommates in their corresponding House.

Where do students live other than dorms?

Thanks to the school's prime location, students attending the King's College can choose to live anywhere in the city. FiDi is known for many luxury rentals, and it'd be quite easy to find roommates to share an apartment with. If you have a limited budget and don't mind living a bit farther from the campus, Bushwick, Clinton Hill, and Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn are all great options. If living in Manhattan is important to you, consider checking out East Village or no-fee rentals in the Upper East Side. As long as you stay along the 4 and 5 trains, commuting to school shouldn't be a problem at all. If you're still unsure, take a look at RentHop's subway rent map and find out which stops on the 4, 5, J, M, and Z lines are the cheapest.

Where do alumni live if they stay in the city?

Considering that New York City is the center of liberal arts, it's not surprising that many King's College alumni choose to stay in the city after graduation. Great neighborhoods for alumni include Hell's Kitchen, Greenwich Village, and Upper West Side. Astoria is another popular area for those looking for a vibrant yet intimate neighborhood vibe.
