As many of you know, RentHop.com has been a free source of New York City apartments from the first day of our launch. We began as a collection of no-fee listings from some of the largest landlords in Manhattan. Our goal was to provide all of the location, listing, and contact information to our visitors at no charge. Landlords can list apartment for free to increase inventory, and provide more options for renters.
Our mission has always been to provide New Yorkers with the most comprehensive online apartment listings database, and to fulfill that goal, we realize we need to talk to all landlords, both large and small. Therefore, in recent weeks, our listings have broadened considerably! One of the more exciting new additions to RentHop is the inclusion of many smaller, independent landlords who don’t necessarily have the advertising and marketing budget for fancy websites or full-page print advertisements. Today, we would like to highlight three examples of our independent landlords.
Apartment Listings for Rent Right Now
The first is a studio for only $1,425 a month on the Upper East Side, located on 82nd Street between 1st and York.ย The building is within walking distance from John Jay Park, the Cornell Medical School and Hospital, and the 4-5-6 subway lines.ย Most importantly, the landlord also offers both standard and longer-term leases. |
Check out this extremely well-priced studio in Midtown West. The landlord is a single-unit owner in the luxurious World Wide Plaza condo building. Again, you are dealing directly with the landlord with no broker fees involved. Additionally, this doorman elevator building features multiple laundry machines on the same floor as the apartment. The large windows provide an excellent view of the building courtyard. |
RentHop even includes shares and sublets now to expand our coverage of listings.ย This 390 West End unit asks $1,350 a month and includes furniture, a private bedroom, and access to a gorgeous kitchen. The share is part of a unit in the historic Apthorp building. |
Moving Forward
As we continue to add more listings to RentHop, there will be more opportunities for renters to find high-quality apartments. Moreover, renters can quickly search for their new unit and sign a lease.
