Five Ways to Upgrade Your Bedroom with a $200 Budget

Let’s start off with the bedroom. The bedroom is one of the rooms in your apartment where you spend the most time. Changing up the interior of the bedroom doesnโ€™t have to be costly and it can really help the energy of the room. Here are our suggestions for a facelift on a $200 budget.ย

1. Plants

Plants can really give life to any room. Whether you go for the alive or fake version, plants make any place homier and it just feels more โ€œfreshโ€. If you have a larger room you can easily fit a bigger plant in one of your bedroom corners. Weโ€™re aware that bedroom sizes vary so donโ€™t fret if you donโ€™t have a big bedroom. Putting a smaller plant on top of your dresser or bookshelf serves the same purpose.

2. Pillows

While some people might be lucky enough to have a bedroom thatโ€™s big enough to hold a couch (where are you living?!), most of us do not. However, if you have a bed (if you donโ€™t have a bed, we suggest you spend the entire budget on a bed instead) or a chair located in your room, then you can use these two items to store some colorful and vibrant new pillows.

3. Curtains

If you donโ€™t currently have curtains in your room, this is the time to get some. If you donโ€™t have a lot of money, but you desperately want to update your bedroom, start with some new curtains. The wonderful thing about curtains is that the options are many! And, they actually take up a lot of the room without taking up the room, if that makes sense. Splurge on some really colorful ones that pop!

4. Rug

Textiles can do so much for an apartment upgrade because they donโ€™t really take up too much space and the design options are endless. The cost of a rug doesnโ€™t necessarily burn a hole in your pocket either, as you can find a nice, affordable rug at several stores. There are major retailers and online providers to help you stay within your $200 budget.

5. Artwork

The best way, probably, to give your bedroom a facelift is through artwork. The options are endless, in the form of design, color, and shape. While artwork might be pricey, it doesnโ€™t have to be. There are tons of options that fit the budget if you know where to look! There are tons of online sites where you can get art prints for example, such as Minted. Buy some prints, order some frames on Amazon, and you got your wall a facelift. You can also use Command Strips to limit the amount of handiwork.ย
