Anne was the absolute best broker I’ve met. She had so much knowledge about every location, but made sure to prioritize and understand my needs. She’s also very prepared, prompt / on time and brought a measuring tape to each spot. She knew my budget and didn’t push to go over that and made sure I got an apartment with beautiful light and a big kitchen - for way under budget and no fee. It’s actually my dream apartment, I’ve shown all of my friends and they agree. Anne was so kind, funny and friendly, like a friend + life coach wrapped up in one, which is so helpful for such a stressful process. The idea of trying to find an apartment in New York seemed like an incredibly daunting task. Anne eased all of those worries immediately. She took the time to show me units that were in my budget range, and really went above and beyond when answering whatever questions or concerns I had (and believe me, I had A Lot)
What stood out the most was how she genuinely cared in helping find “the right apartment for me” instead of “just an apartment”. Which not many people have the sincerity or patience to do. Anne is one of those rare people who has an ability to listen closely and discern what you really need or want. She was so helpful to my family as we looked for a place within a clear budget but also wanted enough space to host friends. Anne thoughtfully considered the needs of our little baby boy. During our apartment hunt which was conducted during quarantine, we must have spoke with over 30 brokers. Out of all of them, Anne Edling was the only one who significantly added value.
Her apartment listings were spot on to fit our picky criteria and she found us a place that was not even listed online that is rent stabilized!!! She was able to get us a facetime appointment with the current tenants so we could see the place and feel confident even though we weren't allowed to see it in person. She helped in negotiating a move date 11 days earlier than offered, so that the move would be possible.
She is an amazing communicator and problem solver which sped up the whole process. I also want to add how delightful she is to speak with, even over texting during what was an extremely stressful time and when other brokers were being aggressive. We are so grateful we met her and would highly recommend working with her without reservation.
I initially contacted Anne through a posting on Craigslist. I had 5 days to find an apartment in Manhattan. As anyone here knows, the market is brutal, with most places being rented within 48 hours of being posted.
Anne asked me what I was looking for in my new apartment. Even though this isn't unique question, I felt Anne was really listening "between the lines" to what I was requesting. She is extremely intuitive. She is also very hard-working and fast with responses to questions, and communications in general. Extremely professional. I decided to rent the first place she showed me. I had looked at about 6 places before that, many of which were rented in the same day. The space she found fit my needs perfectly and was at exactly the price I stipulated. She also helped in getting my lease countersigned as quickly as possible.
