I had never lived in NYC before, so had very little experience and background information and finding an apartment in NYC with all of the options available seemed a bit daunting. With Samia, I can confidently say you will never be presented with an unexpected bill or commitment - that’s a luxury. - She demonstrated strong insider contacts. She is clearly experienced with the NYC market. When I asked for an apartment visit at 8:00am at 7:00pm the day before, she managed to make it happen. When I needed additional time to finish the application, she got the apartment off the market. Each request she brokered made my life easier. - Samia guided and orchestrated negotiations. Even though I had rented in NYC before, I was inexperienced at negotiating leases. I moved to NYC from Seattle, and so I depended on her to prepare me for the NYC apartment rental process (far more rigorous than anywhere else I've ever lived) and to have a long list of apartments ready to visit when I flew out to find a place. Actually, I did not rent an apartment FROM this agent -- Samia helped me FIND a tenant to sublet my co-op apt. I live out of town and couldn't do it myself. I was so lucky to have her work with me. She has a great eye for selecting apartments, and because I was on a short 2 day trip to look for apartments in Manhattan, I was honestly not expecting to be able to sign an apartment. Samia was amazing! Always kind, professional, respectful and positive. My son is a student at NYU and we live out of state. He wanted to rent an apartment for the following year and we needed help. From the moment I contacted Samia she was on it! She spent an hour on the phone with me explaining how the rental market worked in New York and what we would need to do. After giving her the list of criteria she sorted it down to a nice handful of apartments to see. When the list of criteria changed, she was patient and rolled with it. On the second day of showings they found a great apartment meeting all of their needs and wants. We had challenges with financing and Samia gave us solutions that allowed us to resolve all the issues. Samia provided emails and documents that guided us through the entire process and she updated us several times a day on the status of the rentals. She even went out of her way to provide our daughter with info like transportation schedules and routes to and from work, lists of local restaurants and shops (inclusive of locations and hours), and important phone numbers.

Samia had a real calming and pleasant demeanor from the get-go. She was unhurried and allowed us to take our time with each apartment. You could tell that she truly cared and that the whole process was fulfilling for her as well, as she seemed genuinely happy that she was able to help us find the perfect place. One thing I liked a lot was that we never had to repeat ourselves; she remembered exactly what we wanted and what our feedback was and every apartment she showed us was well within our budget; she did not try to pressure us to go beyond our budget. We always felt like we were her only clients, even though she has a busy schedule herself, and on more than one occasion she would even postpone or find coverage for another client when we ran over our time.
